All About Adelanto Stadium
Mavericks Stadium was built in 1991 to accommodate the newly arrived High Desert Mavericks, a “Single A Advanced” Minor League Baseball team. The Mavericks broke California League records by being the first team to draw over 200,000 fans in one season. By 1996, the Mavericks drew their one-millionth fan, becoming one of the fastest teams to reach that milestone. The Mavericks earned four California League championship titles, including one in 1991, their first year in Adelanto, and in 2016, their last. The California League contracted the league to eight teams, eliminating the Mavericks (along with the Bakersfield Blaze) after the 2016 season.
The void left by the Mavericks departure was filed by the arrival of the High Desert Yardbirds, a team of the independent Pecos League. The Pecos League operates in the southwest US desert-mountain region in cities that don’t have Major or Minor league baseball teams.
The New Adelanto Stadium
The stadium is the premier mixed-use entertainment hub of the High Desert. Our banquet hall is bustling throughout the year, and ready to host your private events like birthday parties, family reunions and Quinceaneras. The stadium also hosts large events like the bi-annual Adelanto Rodeo, concerts, trade shows, cannabis festivals, and of course the World-Famous Adelanto Grand Prix, the largest off-road race in the country!
The stadium has an official seating capacity of 3,808 (however that is currently slightly less due to a recent reconfiguration) plus grass seating for approximately 500 additional fans. For concerts and festivals, the field can be configured to accommodate about 5500-6500 additional guests for a total capacity in excess of 10,000.
